The BEST time for ice cream is ALWAYS!
Today, we are heading to Miyahara, one of Taichung's most fascinating landmarks!
But here’s the interesting part — this beautiful old building was once a hospital and ophthalmology clinic during the Japanese era. Today, it has been given a whole new lease of life and is famous for its gorgeous architecture, sweets, chocolates, pastries and, of course, its tempting ice cream! 🍦🍫
From treating eyes to treating sweet cravings — now that’s quite a transformation! 😄

Before reaching Miyahara, we had a little bridge to cross — Zhongshan Green Bridge. 🌿
It was a lovely change of scenery as we made our way through Taichung, with the greenery and quiet surroundings giving us a pleasant little break from the busy streets.
Just a short crossing, but every little stop along the way becomes part of the journey. And we had no idea yet that a “WOW AND WOW” experience was waiting for us at Miyahara! 😍🍦
It was literally wow and wow and wow the moment we stepped into Miyahara! From the grand, old-world interior that looked like something out of a magical storybook to the rows and rows of beautifully packaged goodies, there was so much to admire.
And then came the ice cream… oh my! 🍨 With so many unusual flavours to choose from, deciding what to eat was almost harder than deciding what souvenirs to bring home! 😂
Miyahara definitely knows how to make a sweet treat feel like a grand adventure!
And finally… something that Mom absolutely loves — ICE CREAM! 😋🍦
After all the walking and sightseeing, this was the perfect treat for her. With so many flavours to choose from at Miyahara, there was plenty to make her happy!
Seeing Mom enjoy her favourite ice cream made this little stop even sweeter. ❤️
After cooling off with our yummy ice cream, it was time to hop over to another interesting Taichung landmark — Fourth Credit Union!
