Taiwan Trip 2016 Day 2 ~ Wanli District 湾里区 / Shipwreck Site / Shimen Cave 石门洞 / Shimen Wedding Plaza 石门婚纱广场

Leaving the busy streets behind, we headed out on a coastline journey around Taipei, enjoying a slower and more relaxing side of Taiwan. 🚗

With the sea stretching beside us, we took our time to admire the coastal scenery, listen to the waves and simply enjoy the smell of the sea. There was something refreshing about the salty sea breeze—it made the long drive feel like part of the adventure.

Sometimes, you don't need a special destination. Just the open road, the ocean breeze and the sound of the sea are enough. 💙🌊

We decided to give Yehliu Geopark a miss this time as it would have been rather inconvenient for Mom. ❤️ Although it would have been interesting to see the famous rock formations, travelling should also be about making sure everyone is comfortable and able to enjoy the journey. So instead, we took things at a more relaxed pace and continued enjoying the beautiful Taiwan coastline.

There will always be another place to visit, but Mom’s comfort comes first.

Even though we gave Yehliu Geopark a miss, our coastline journey still brought us an unexpected little surprise—a sight of a shipwreck! 🚢🌊

It was certainly not something we had planned to see, but there it was, adding a touch of mystery and adventure to our drive along the coast. Sometimes, the unplanned sights turn out to be the most memorable ones.

And then, along our coastal journey, we came across Shimen Cave! 🌊🪨

Another unexpected stop along the way, the natural rock formation added a little more excitement to our day. We took some time to admire the rugged coastline and the way nature had shaped the rocks over the years.

It was one of those spontaneous discoveries that made the journey even more interesting—another little gem to add to our Taiwan memories.

Just when we thought the coastal journey couldn't surprise us anymore, we came across Shimen Wedding Plaza! 💕🌊

It was another unexpected little discovery along the way, with the sea and coastal scenery providing a beautiful backdrop. We had not planned to stop here, but that's the fun of travelling—sometimes the unplanned places become part of the story.
