My Pictorial Diary

Taiwan Trip 2016 Day 3 ~ Railroad Journey 铁轨之旅 ~ Sheng Xing Train Station 三义胜兴火車站 / Sheng Xing Old Street 胜兴老街 / Longteng Bridge 龙腾断桥

Down the endless railway line...

We were on a little adventure of our own, making stops along the way at different railway stations. 🚉

There was something special about each station — watching the trains come and go, taking in the surroundings and getting a glimpse of everyday life beyond the usual tourist spots.

Sometimes the journey itself is just as exciting as the destination. All aboard for another little Taiwanese adventure! 📸❤️

First stop...

Sheng Xing Train Station ~ A liitle step back in time🚂, a charming little station with an old-world atmosphere. 🚉

It was lovely to slow down and take a look around, enjoying the historic surroundings and imagining the many journeys that had passed through here over the years.

With its nostalgic charm and quiet setting, Sheng Xing was a delightful little discovery along our Taiwan road trip.

After visiting Sheng Xing Train Station, we wandered over to Sheng Xing Old Street to explore a little more of this charming old township.

The streets had that wonderful nostalgic feel, with traditional buildings, little shops and local treats waiting to be discovered. It was nice to slow down, wander around and simply enjoy the atmosphere.

Our visit to Longteng Bridge was a little different from the other stops on our journey. Standing there and looking at the remains of the old bridge, I couldn’t help feeling a sense of sadness.

The broken arches and weathered ruins seemed to tell a story of time, nature and the powerful forces that changed this place forever. Yet, even among the ruins, there was a quiet beauty that made me stop and reflect.

Some places don’t just give us beautiful photographs — they leave us with feelings and stories that stay with us long after we leave. 📸🌿❤️

Seeing those wide stretches of green rice paddies in person was quite an eye-opener. It was so different from the concrete buildings and busy streets I’m used to — peaceful, open and wonderfully green.
