Bangkok Trip 2016 Day 1 ~ Singapore Changi Airport --> Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport

The holiday has finally begun! ✈️ After all the planning and anticipation, it’s time to leave the everyday routine behind and head to Bangkok. There’s always something exciting about being at the airport with luggage in tow, knowing that a new adventure is just a flight away.

With the excitement building as we make our way to the departure gate, thoughts are already filled with Thai food, bustling streets, colourful temples, shopping, and plenty of places waiting to be explored. Bangkok, here we come!

The holiday starts the best way possible — with a flight, a little wanderlust, and the promise of many wonderful memories ahead.✨

After checking in, it was time to slow things down and simply enjoy our first little taste of Bangkok. Instead of rushing off to another attraction, we took a leisurely walk around the hotel and explored the neighbourhood at our own pace.

The streets were already buzzing with Bangkok’s familiar energy—cars and motorbikes passing by, little shops opening their doors, colourful signs everywhere, and the tempting aroma of Thai food drifting through the air. It was a lovely way to get our bearings and soak in the atmosphere without having a fixed agenda.

Sometimes, the best way to begin a holiday is simply to wander.

Our first meal upon arriving in Bangkok was a simple but memorable one at a nearby street vendor. The little street stall was bustling with activity, filled with the tempting aroma of freshly cooked noodles and the lively sounds of the city around us.

There was nothing fancy about the setting, but that was exactly what made it special. We enjoyed our first taste of Bangkok right there on the street, surrounded by the sights, sounds, and energy of everyday life.

After the light lunch, we were off again, this time to explore the street art along the skywalk. The walk was a refreshing change of pace, with colourful murals and creative artworks adding character to the urban surroundings. As we strolled along, every turn seemed to reveal another interesting piece waiting to be discovered. It was a lovely way to spend the afternoon—taking in Bangkok’s vibrant street culture while enjoying a leisurely walk above the busy streets below.
