My Pictorial Diary

As picture tells a thousand words, therefore I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Armed with nothing, but a camera,
Take nothing, but pictures,
Capture nothing, but memories,
Leave nothing, but footprints.

Bangkok Trip 2016 Day 1 ~ Soi Kasemsan 2 / Ratchatavee Pier

After visiting the Jim Thompson House Museum, we took some time to simply stroll around the neighbourhood and soak in its quieter side. Tucked away along Soi Kasemsan 2, the museum feels wonderfully removed from the busy streets of central Bangkok, even though the lively Siam shopping district is just around the corner.

Walking through the area, we enjoyed the contrast between old and new Bangkok. Narrow lanes, greenery, traditional houses and little corners of everyday life created a much slower atmosphere compared with the bustling malls nearby. The canal-side surroundings added another layer of charm, reminding us that Bangkok is a city where modern life and old neighbourhoods can exist side by side.

Tummies alert sound! There was nothing fancy about our lunch—just good food, a simple table and the bustling atmosphere of the street. Sitting there, watching the vendors work their magic while the city carried on around us, made the meal even more enjoyable. Sometimes, it is these unpretentious little food stops that become the most memorable parts of a trip. A delicious Bangkok lunch, served with a generous helping of local flavour and a side of everyday city life!
