My Pictorial Diary

As picture tells a thousand words, therefore I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Armed with nothing, but a camera,
Take nothing, but pictures,
Capture nothing, but memories,
Leave nothing, but footprints.

Bangkok Trip 2016 Day 1 ~ Jim Thompson House Museum

Love this ground it's entering a different world, far away from the busy streets and modern city life. Tucked away among lush greenery, this beautiful traditional Thai house offers a peaceful escape while telling the fascinating story of Jim Thompson, the American businessman who played an important role in reviving Thailand’s silk industry.

The house itself is a wonderful sight, made up of several traditional Thai teak houses that were carefully brought together and restored. Walking through the rooms, I was drawn to the beautiful architecture, antique furniture, delicate artworks and many fascinating Asian artefacts collected by Thompson during his travels. Every corner seemed to have its own story, giving the visit a wonderful sense of discovery.

What made the experience even more special was the atmosphere surrounding the house. The gardens were filled with tropical plants and greenery, creating a calm and almost magical setting in the middle of Bangkok. It was hard to believe that such a tranquil place could exist so close to the city's busy streets.

Under the beautiful red umbrella, everything feels a little more magical
With time & patience the mulberry leaf becomes a silk gown
