After walking through the bustling streets of Hong Kong, a coffee break at the famous Lan Fong Yuen felt like the perfect little pause. This legendary cha chaan teng has been part of Hong Kong’s food culture for more than 70 years, drawing both locals and visitors with its iconic drinks and old-school atmosphere.
Of course, the queue was impossible to miss! We joined the long line of eager customers, patiently waiting for our turn while watching the busy staff prepare drink after drink. There is something quite amusing about seeing so many people willing to queue just for a taste of this Hong Kong institution—but when in Hong Kong, you simply have to experience it for yourself.
Sometimes, the best travel memories are not about rushing from one attraction to another, but simply standing in line, soaking up the atmosphere, and enjoying a humble cup of coffee or tea at a place that has become part of Hong Kong’s story.
A little coffee break, a little people-watching, and a whole lot of Hong Kong character—Lan Fong Yuen was definitely worth the wait!
