My Pictorial Diary

As picture tells a thousand words, therefore I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Armed with nothing, but a camera,
Take nothing, but pictures,
Capture nothing, but memories,
Leave nothing, but footprints.

Hong Kong Trip 2017 Day 4 ~ Ladder Street/Man Mo Temple / Gage Street Market

Walking along Hong Kong’s famous Ladder Street feels like stepping into a different side of the city. Made up of steep stone steps, the street winds its way through the historic neighbourhood, surrounded by old buildings, colourful shops and the everyday sights and sounds of local life.

The climb may be tiring, but every step offers something interesting to discover. The narrow passageways and traditional architecture create a charming contrast to Hong Kong’s modern skyscrapers. As I made my way up the steps, I couldn’t help but stop along the way to admire the unique atmosphere and capture a few photographs.

Come...race you to the top!!!

I found myself drawn to the charming little souvenir stalls scattered around the area. The souvenir stalls added even more colour and character to our walk. There were plenty of interesting little treasures to browse through, from traditional Chinese ornaments and lucky charms to quirky keepsakes and vintage-style collectibles. I enjoyed taking my time to look at the different items, never quite knowing what little treasure might catch my eye next. These stalls may be small, but they capture a wonderful part of Hong Kong’s character — colourful, traditional, nostalgic and full of surprises.

Our journey brought us to the fascinating Man Mo Temple and the famous Ladder Street. Tucked among the busy streets and towering buildings, Man Mo Temple offered a peaceful glimpse into Hong Kong’s rich heritage. The temple was filled with beautiful traditional details, intricate carvings and the gentle fragrance of burning incense, creating a calm and spiritual atmosphere.

Makes me hungry....

Walking through Gage Street Market was like stepping into a little world bursting with life. The street was filled with the lively chatter of people, the tempting aromas of food, and rows of colourful stalls displaying all kinds of goods. Vendors called out to passing shoppers while locals went about their daily routines, creating a wonderfully authentic atmosphere.
