Stepping into Wat Mahathat in Ayutthaya felt like stepping through a doorway into another era. Surrounded by ancient brick ruins, weathered stupas, and the remains of a once-great temple complex, the place carried a quiet beauty that seemed untouched by the passing of time.
Perhaps the most unforgettable sight was the famous Buddha head gently embraced by the roots of a tree. Nature and history have become inseparable here, creating a scene that is both mysterious and deeply moving. It was as though the tree had been patiently guarding this precious piece of history for centuries.
Walking among the ruins, I could almost imagine the temple as it might have looked in its glorious days—filled with monks, worshippers, and visitors. Today, only fragments remain, but those fragments speak loudly of Ayutthaya's magnificent past.
Wat Mahathat is more than an ancient ruin; it is a reminder that time changes everything, yet some memories and stories continue to endure. Standing there, surrounded by silence and history, I truly felt lost in time.
